With the hot weather and the lack of water flow in the pond, the water has become very green and thick.
It was time to change the water and clean the silt from the bottom of the pond.
We have a small solar/battery powered pump to circulate the water between the pond and the header tank so it was a simple task to attach a hose to the pump and drain the system pretty quickly.
Then I just had to scoop the remaining 30 or so litres into a bucket before retrieving the stones that had dropped in and then mopping out the pond to clean the liner.
After a couple of days, the weather changed and we are getting the pond refilled for free.
The back flower garden has had some attention from Janet and almost all of the weeds have now been removed.
It looks much tidier now and the remaining blooms appear more prominent.
