The ever changing weather makes it almost impossible to plan the work from one day to the next.
We desperately want the outside work completed before the weather gets too bad, but finding enough dry time to do the work is difficult. There is still plenty of inside work though.
Wednesday started wet and miserable with low clouds and rain from the outset, a big letdown from the previous day which was a public holiday, warm and sunny all day, and of course no work on the house.
I took Janet to Fundão to catch the 08:06 train to Lisbon for the Web Summit Conference and returned to find that the guys had already started.
The morning's work was putting the floor into the bathroom area only, not including the space for the shower which needs to be laid carefully so that we can have the drain directly in the floor rather than via a shower base. Unfortunately, they had forgotten that there is a siphon point in the floor and they cemented over that. It had been filled with paper to prevent too much dust from getting in there and by now just looked like the rest of the floor. It was not too difficult to find it the next day and chip out the cement which was not fully cured.
After lunch, the weather had cheered up a lot and so work could move outside. Some more of the rendering top coat was done and part of the 'box' areas around the small windows.
One of the finished window surrounds, just needs some mortar between the stones.
And finally, here is a picture of the rear of the house which I could not get previously because it was either raining or too dark.
