The weather has not been kind which has slowed some of the work, especially on the outside.
Also, there are two days 'lost' due to a public holiday and a day on another job, so it has only been 13 days and not really three whole weeks.
Yesterday and today have been dedicated to building the concrete staircase which is not just a simple straight flight but one with a kite winder two-thirds of the way up. It had to be done like this to fit into the limited space available and it is an exact fit, they must get it right 😰
At the end of the first day's work, we have the base shuttering in and the reinforcement grid.
The lower flight.
And round the corner for the upper part.
The underside from the bathroom side.
I'm glad that I had not started the work making the walls in Janet's new pantry room because I suddenly found these four large clamps pushed through the wall to secure the side rails for the staircase. You can see another clamp in the shower cubicle in the picture above.
Although the methods may seem bizarre and perhaps a little dubious, if it works then everyone is happy.
