A quick update with two subject pieces.
Now we can really see some progress on the outside works.
I had been getting on well with painting on the roadside of the house and on Wednesday I received a message that Sr. Valente would be installing the new gates on Friday. This was a welcome surprise.
I had to shift the focus, and the work, to the gate posts which needed painting before the installation of the gates. Though not a great surface area, they still needed two coats of both primer and top coat with drying time between. In addition to this, I did not want to be painting the walls next to the shiny new gates which would obviously get speckled with white paint.
Therefore I had to make sure that job was completed in good time.
A bit of overtime got the painting completed and, with the new gates installed, we think the house looks 1000% better.
Again, there is still some finishing work to do and the grey skirt needs to be painted, but the overall effect is fine.
We chose a gate design that was not too elaborate or ornate in keeping with the rest of the house.
