The new door set and windows are now installed.
Originally ordered (and the deposit paid) in January we now have the basement room sealed from the outside environment.
It has been a very long wait to get this part of the puzzle in place so we can move to the next stage of furnishing the room but we are grateful that it is done.
There is still a little finishing to do around the door and window frames but the difference is huge, no longer are we concerned over wildlife coming into the house uninvited.
The little slit windows are much smaller than the openings, they do let in less light and prying eyes, but having the window in the door more than compensates and the room is brighter than before.
Opening up the doors fully allows even more light into the room.
The whole space is much more inviting, we should now really refrain from using the term 'dungeon' and refer to it as the guest suite.
