After a long break from using the computer I decided it was time to update the status of our project and other things.
The work is progressing, most of the metal framing is now fixed in, and installation of pipework for the electrics is now underway.
The new consumer unit is installed in the dungeon and it was nice to find that the pipes that we had fitted through the concrete floor can accommodate two conduit tubes each as hoped.
Framing the walls has been slow. Downstairs in the kitchen and back room I could use a stepladder to reach the ceilings in order to hang a plumb line to align things but because the high point is 3.7m (12´) upstairs I have to use the scaffold platform.
Also, having to work around stacks of plasterboard and insulation is a little awkward.
Now that the wall framing is in place I can measure up and order the new granite window cills, unfortunately each one is a different depth because the new internal walls are straight.
Once the cills are installed the new windows can be sized and ordered - even though I know what the sizes will be the supplier still has to visit and confirm my measuring skills.
