Normally we would expect variable weather conditions at this time of year with wind and rain.

As it has been generally nice each day and the materials for work downstairs have still not arrived I decided to continue painting outside.

I collected the new granite window surround for the bathroom a couple of weeks ago and replaced the old, cracked marble pieces at the beginning of last week, again while the weather was fair.

With the exterior insulation fitted and the rendering suitably dry it is now possible to get the bathroom exterior painted and looking pretty.

After three primer coats and two layers of the membrane top coat it should fend off the elements for a number of years.

Last weekend, after a pretty hot day, I tested the internal wall temperature in the bathroom. Previously after such a day of sunshine the wall would be quite warm, in Summer the wall gets really hot with the sun beating down all day. I'm pleased to find that the wall inside was cool to the touch, proving the effectiveness of both the insulation and the white paint.

When the front gable end of the old building is painted it is going to look very nice.

Around the back I had to wait for a morning photo opportunity while the sun was shining on the wall.
