It was a long, slow process and it's not over just yet.

The main side of the house is now painted and looking quite good.

We still have the skirt around the bottom of the walls to do, but that doesn't require the scaffold so should be relatively easy - except that it is, by design, a very rough surface.

With the photo taken fairly early in the day, it is clear that the old rendering on the old building is not quite as flat as one would like.

When we eventually get the new door set for the basement part it should look even better still. We have a small canopy to fit above the doorway, but all in good time.

Comparing the image from three years ago we are very happy, gone are the ugly aerial and electricity cable hook-up (and of course the estate agent's sign).

And just look at Janet's pretty herb tubs, red, yellow, green, and blue.

Now the scaffold has moved to the rear of the house and the painting is set to start all over again. This wall should be slightly faster, being less complicated - we'll see if that is the case during the next week.
