Since the New Year, we have made a few trips out to local areas of interest.
In February, we went to Covilhã, not far away.
We have been there many times, but never to simply walk around the town and see the sights.
After parking at the supermarket, we walked up to the university and then even higher to the old town.
There is artwork all around the town, sculptures and painted buildings around every corner.
This owl is much like the dog sculpture at Fundão railway station, made from scrap car parts.
This church with traditional painted tiles is very impressive.
An abstract image of a sleeping shepherd with his sheep.
Yet another large mural on the side of a building.
There are many, many other examples of the urban street art around the town
Well worth the visit, but remember to wear good walking shoes and prepare for some hills to climb.
