It's been a while since the last update but things have got a bit more interesting recently. Last weekend I had a pleasant train ride to Vila Nova de Guia, all 5½ hours of it. Janet had been working at their office during the week so we eventually met up and visited a local restaurant for a feed. The hotel is 40 minutes walk, up a steep hill on a clammy Spring evening.

IBIS Budget - and they do mean budget - is the most basic hotel I ever stayed in but at least the bed was comfy and the shower worked well.

Saturday and Sunday were spent doing some more work in a friend's apartment which she is re-modelling before moving in. Lots of work going on but we had to prepare and paint the ceilings and walls with the sealing paint. Haven't done any real work since last Summer so I didn't rush into things.

On the plus side, we had lunch on both days at Barraquinha, right on the sea front, where the sun was shining, the sea breeze was cooling and to make it even better we had dolphins entertaining us on the first day.

Janet and I drove back to Fundão on Sunday evening, great weather until we passed through a huge downpour, lightning, thunder and flooding rain. Then after 10 minutes it was gone and we were back into sunshine - bizarre!
