Having rescued a whole group of cactuses from various parts of the garden when we bought the house, Janet kept them in pots with a plan to make a dedicated cactus garden.
That idea has now come to fruition.
The three planting beds along the wall of the house have been filled and turned into pseudo desert land.
Now that the plants have been transplanted into the beds they seem quite happy.
Most of the species have turned much greener than they were while in the pots.
Others have not evolved to be green.
There is plenty of room for them to expand and spread.
With the planter beds having very good drainage the winter rains should not be too much of a problem.
